It was a good old fashion Frisco League slug fest over at Malcolm Brown Memorial Ball Park at the Richland City Park that went the full seven between the Bears and the Bulldogs. When the dust settled in this one the Visiting Dixon Bulldogs would take home a 16-6 triumph to up their record to 9-3 and remain undefeated in Frisco play at 2-0.
The Dixon Bulldogs would get on the board in the top of the first when Joe Hardwick would be hit by a pitch and clean up hitter Hunter Barnett would smack a double to center field to bring him home making it 1-0 after one. Dixon would put up a crocked number in the top of the second when Hunter McCoy would walk and steal second base then Wyatt Hughes would also reach on the base on balls. A wild pitch coupled with a throwing error by the catcher would allow McCoy to come home and score. Drake Rujawitz would single then steal second to keep things going. A wild pitch would bring in Hughes then a ground out by Mike Fulbright would eventually bring in Rujawitz. Senior Joe Hardwick would then highlight the frame when he blasted a towering solo shot over the left field fence. Richland would get their first run in the bottom of the second when Taylor Andrews would make it to second on a fielding error by the center fielder then a single by Austin Walters brought in T. Andrews making it 5-1 after two. The Bulldogs would continue to put the runs up in the third McCoy would get it started when he singles then took second and advanced to third on an error by the second basemen on the same play. A wild pitch would bring him home. Hughes would walk then advance to second on a balk and a single by Rujawitz would bring Hughes home. A ground out off the bat of Andrew Meier would plate Rujawitz. Richland would get one more in their half the third when Dawson Andrews would lead off the inning with a walk. A single to left field by Steven Domingue would bring home D. Andrew making it 9-2 after three.
Dixon would get two more in the fourth, Cole Emmons and McCoy would both reach on back to back walks then advance up on a wild pitch. A ground ball off the bat of Rujawitz that would have ended the inning would be misplayed by the first basemen allowing the two runners to score making it 11-2 after four innings. They would get another in the top of the fifth inning when Andrew Meier would double to center field then come home later on a wild pitch. The Bears would rattle the bats in their half of the fifth when Zayne McNeil would smack a single to left then an error in left field would allow Domingue to reach. A sac fly by Dane Peterson to deep center brought home McNeil then a wild pitch allowed Domingue to come home making it 12-4 after five to extend the game. The Bulldogs offense continued to roll in the top the sixth as Levi Roach would lead off with a double then Meier would walk to put two on. A single by Hardwick would get Roach to the plate then an error at second on a ball hit by Weider would bring in Meier making it 14-4. The Bears would again rally to extend the game. Richland's Mobashir Monim would single then D. Andrews would follow with a single of hit own. Domingue would hit a ball to second that was misplayed by the second basemen allowing both Monim and Andrews to score making it 14-6 after six. Dixon got two more in the seventh when McCoy and Justin Thompson would both walk. Then Fulbright would draw a bases loaded walk to score McCoy then a Meier would hit into a fielder's choice that scored Thompson giving us the final score 16-6.
