Good morning everybody here is my wrap up and All Tournament Team selections from the Osage Wood bat Tournament.
Friday
In the opening game of the day the host Osage Indians hammered the Richland Bears 17-1 in five innings to kick off the tournament. Osage would get four in the first, one in the second, five in the third and seven in the fourth. Richland would get their lone run in the first inning.

In the night cap the Dixon Bulldogs would get an outstanding performance from Senior pitcher Solomon Weider as they blanked the Versailles Tigers 4-0. Dixon would strike in the third when Mike Fulbright beat out a throw to first then a throwing error by the first basemen would move him to second. A grounder would move him to third and a wild pitch brought him home making it 1-0 after three. Dixon would get two more in the fourth when Hunter McCoy would single then Cole Emmons would double putting both in scoring position. Hunter Barnett would smack a single to shallow left field that would bring home both McCoy and Emmons making it 3-0 Dixon. The final Bulldog tally would come in the sixth inning when Lane Withers singled then Barnett would again single bringing in Withers to make it 4-0 and that's would end up being the final.

The early game would see the Dixon Bulldogs jump out of the gate collecting seven first inning runs as they downed the Osage Indians 8-3. Hunter Barnett would start the game out with a single then Andrew Meier would drive him in with a single up the middle and Solomon Weider would reach on an error at short stop. Joe Hardwick would drive in both Meier and Weider with a single to shallow right field and Hunter McCoy would reach on an error at shortstop. Lane Withers would hit a single to bring in Hardwick then a single by Mike Fulbright brought home McCoy and an error in right field on the same play would bring home Withers. A single by Barnett brought home Fulbright Dixon led this one 7-0. In the Osage half of the first they would get two runs to make it 7-2 after one. Osage would get another one in the fifth to make this a 7-3 game after five. Dixon would get an insurance run in the sixth when Fulbright reach on an error at short then a line drive to center by Barnett brought him home making it 8-3

The Dixon Bulldogs would claim their fourth Osage Wood bat Tournament Title in as many years with a 16-1 three inning thrashing of the Richland Bears. Dixon got two in the first, six in the second and eight in the third to end this one early. Richland's lone run came in their half of the third inning.
"It was a good way to actually get the season started, I know its odd to say that almost three weeks into the year but this awful weather has only allowed us to play one game before this. We swung the bats well and for the most part we did a good job of getting those big hits in the situations when we needed them. The pitching was the backbone as we only gave up four runs all together in the tournament but none were earned." Dixon head Coach Alex Shelton
