Good morning everybody here is my wrap up from the MSHSAA Class 2 District 9 Tournament at Laquey High School.
(1) Crocker vs (5) Vienna
The Crocker Lady Lions would systematically take apart the Vienna Lady Eagles in the first half and would end up winning it on the turbo clock 66-34 to advance to the championship game. In the first i didn't take long for things to go from bad to super bad for Vienna as Crocker would get all over them with their pressure defense and the Lady Lions would jump out to a commanding 29-5 lead after one. In the second Crocker would end the came from a competitive standpoint as they would outscore Vienna 21-4 in the quarter to make it a 48-9 edge at the half. Vienna would outscore Crocker in both quarters in the second half but it wouldn't matter after the first half. Vienna would win the third 15-13 to make it 61-24 and in the final turbo fourth the Lady Eagles would win it 10-05 but it really wouldn't matter after the first half.

(2) Laquey vs (6) Iberia
The Laquey Lady Hornets were able to dispatch a very game Iberia Lady Rangers squad and would punch their ticket to a championship match up with Crocker 60-45 over rock town. The first half of this one looked as if it might be a blow out as they Laquey Lady Hornets would simply dominated first as they were on top of this one 14-5 after one. In the second the Lady Hornets would continue to roll and would seemingly put this one out of reach as they would outscore Iberia 17-9 to build up a 31-14 edge at the intermission. The Lady Rangers would come to life as they would show a lot of grit battling back to make this a game. Iberia would find their mark from the range from deep and outscore the host team 21-11 in the frame to cut the seemingly insurmountable Laquey lead to just a 42-35 ball game after three. This one would be an interesting finish for sure. Both teams would be ready as Laquey was on top but Iberia had a superb third quarter. In the fourth Laquey would hit some big shots to pull away as they would end up outscoring Iberia 18-10 in the final eight minutes to pull away for the win.
