Good morning everybody here is my wrap up from the final day of the 38th Newburg Lady Wolves Invitational as well as the All Tournament Team
7th Place Game-Neburg vs Newburg JV
It was a friendly atmosphere in the opening game of the day as the Newburg Varsity Wolves handled the Newburg Junior Varsity 62-21. This one would be close early as the Varsity squad was ahead 14-12 after one quarter. In the second the Varsity would turn up the defense holding their JV squad to just four points in the frame while putting up fifteen to up their lead to a 2916 edge at the half. In the third they would pull away outscoring the JV 21-4 to make it a 50-20 lead after three. In the running clock shortened fourth the Varsity would outscore the JV 12-1. It was a good chance for everybody to play and twelve of the fifteen combined players that suited up scored.

Consolation Game-Viburnum vs Richland
The Viburnum Lady Jays rumbled past the Richland Lady Bears 69-38 to claim the consolation honors. The first half of this game would be a foul plagued affair as there were over twenty combined fouls called. In the first quarter the Lady Jays would run out to an 18-10 lead after one. The second would see Viburnum struggle at the foul line as they would miss ten free throws in the frame and Richland would end up outscoring them 14-13. Viburnum was on top 31-24 at the half. In the third quarter Viburnum would use some red hot three point shooting in he frame to simply bury Richland 26-8. At one point on six consecutive trips they would hit six three pointers without a miss. Viburnum would lead it 57-32 at that point. In the fourth the Lady Jays would cruise outscoring their foe 12-6.

Third Place Game-Laquey vs Salem
The Laquey Lady Hornets would down the Salem Lady Tigers 60-54 to take home the third place plaque. The first would see Salem hitting some three pointers and that would power them to a 15-12 lead after one. In the second the Lady Hornets would respond by outscoring Salem 17-9 in the frame to take a 29-24 edge into the locker rooms. The third would see both teams put the points on the board but again Laquey would win the scoring battle 17-15. A 26 foot three point buzzer beater by Harley Gan would help close the quarter and they led it 46-39 after three. The final eight of this one would see Laquey use some delay game tactics to try and help them preserve their lead but Salem would force some turnovers and hit a couple threes to make this a single possession game late. Salem would be forced to go to the foul game to extend the game. Laquey would hit the freebies to put the game on ice.

38th Invitational Championship-Licking vs Cuba
The Licking Lady Wildcats would be powered by the Big three of Smith, Osborne and Cook to a rout of the Cuba Lady Wildcats 57-29 to take home the biggest piece of hardware. The first quarter would be a grind as both teams would play with some physicality and it would be Licking on top 15-11. In the second Licking's defense would put the hammer down as they held Cuba to just two points while putting up a sixteen spot to open up a commanding 31-13 lead at the intermission. The third would again be a grind as points were hard to come by but Licking would win the quarter 9-8 and led it 40-21. The fourth would be a chance for Licking to clear their bench and get everybody some minutes in this one. They would again hold Cuba to single digits (eight) while putting up seventeen to win it big. The Lady Wildcats big three of Megan Smith, Bailie Osborne and Vanesse Cook would combine for 39 points which was more then enough to beat Cuba.
