Good morning everybody here is my wrap up from the first two nights at the Conway Tournament
(1) Crane vs (8) Stoutland
The Crane Pirates marched to the semifinals after an 88-34 blistering of the Stoutland Tigers. In the first eight minutes the Tigers were able to hang around with the top seed and it was Crane on top 18-10 after one. In the second the Pirates would simply turn it on and blow this thing wide open outscoring Stoutland 25-6 to open up a 43-16 lead at the break. In the third quarter the Pirates would continue to roll and out did their second quarter total by putting up 31 points to Stoutland's 12 in the period to make it a 74-28. In the turbo clock shortened final quarter Crane outscored Stoutland 14-6.

(4) Warsaw vs (5) Conway
The Warsaw Wildcats were able to topple the host Conway Bears 82-69 to punch their ticket to the semifinal round to meet the Crane Pirates. In the first quarter the Conway Bears would jump out of the gates and were leading 15-12 after one. In the second frame the Wildcats would surge their way into the lead by out distancing Conway 18-12 to make it a 30-27 Warsaw advantage at the break. Warsaw would stretch their lead in he third as they would outscore the hosts 18-14 and led it 48-41. The fourth would be an absolute free for all offensive affair as both teams would but the ball in the hoop at a frantic pace. Warsaw would outscore Conway when it was all said and done in the fourth 34-28 to pick up the win.

The host Conway JV Bears opened up play in pool play with a 64-23 dismantling of Warsaw. The Bears were able to take a 15-1 edge after one and upped it to a 30-10 lead at the half. In the third they would roll outscoring Warsaw 20-11 making it a 50-21 game. In a turbo shortened four the hosts would outscore the Wildcats 14-2.

The Fordland JV downed the Buffalo JV Bison 32-20 in a grind out. It was tied up at 6-6 after the first and the Eagles would nudge ahead 17-14 at the half. In the third Fordland would outscore their opponent 7-4 to build their lead to a 24-18 after three. In the final six minutes Fordland would stifle Buffalo only allowing them two points while putting up eight.

(2) Ava vs (7) Laquey
The Ava Bears were powered by a monstrous second quarter and claimed a 75-63 triumph over the Laquey Hornets. The Hornets came to play as they would use some three point shooting to help them open up a 19-16 lead after one quarter. In the second the Bears would explode offensively putting up 32 points in the second to Laquey's 17 and the Ava would take the 48-35 lead into the locker rooms. The third would see a closely contest quarter and it would be Laquey outscoring the Bears 15-12 but Ava would lead it 60-50. In the final eight minutes of the game the Bears would use some delay game tactics as well as some free throw shooting to hold Laquey from making any rally attempts. Ava would outscore their Frisco foe 15-13 in the fourth.

The Fordland Eagles were able use a strong second half to slip past the upset minded Buffalo Bison 66-59. Buffalo came out inspired in this one as they would jump all over the Eagles 14-5 in the first period and continued to use their three shooting in the second to take a 27-24 lead at the intermission. In the third quarter the Eagles would regroup and pull it together looking like the higher seed as they would surge past Buffalo 19-15 to carve out a slim 43-42 edge after three. In the final eight Fordland was able to get up by five midway threw the period then would go to the stall game forcing Buffalo to foul. They would hit some free throws and while Buffalo hit a number of shots to stay close they couldn't over come the Eagles free throw shooting.
