Good evening everybody here is my wrap up from last night's Frisco League shootout between the Dixon Bulldogs an the Plato Eagles.
The Dixon Bulldogs showed off their high powered offense in front of their home crowd and giving the scoreboard a work out in a 105-85 victory over conference foe Plato. Caution was thrown to the wind early on as both teams would let it fly offensively and it was the Bulldogs outgunning their guest 28-18 in the first. The second quarter would continue the all out free for all. Plato would win the second by outgunning Dixon 25-23 in the quarter but it would be the Bulldogs on top of things at the intermission. Dixon as they have some many time in the past were able to blow this one open with a big third quarter. They would pour in 30 points in the frame while Plato scored 18 and it would be the Bulldogs leading 81-61 after three. The final eight minutes of the game would continue to see the shots flying at a frantic pace as both teams would each put 24 points on the scoreboard. Dixon standout Collin Holzer sizzled the for 40 points and Hayden Yoakum tossed in 21 points and Solomon Weider added 16. Plato was paced by Keagan Adams 28 points (7 three pointers)
"This is the first time we have broke the one hundred point mark his season and its good for us and our confidence. I think when we buy into what we are doing like tonight we can be dangerous. It was close at half we were able to make some adjustments to our press and we were able to pull away then. We were able to get them out and running with us and that is what we want. Hopefully we can build some momentum heading into the Iberia Tournament next week. We had eight guys put points up in the game and many more that helped with rebounding or with defense. A nice step towards were we want to be come district time. " Dixon head coach Mike Phillips
