Good evening everbody and welcome here are is my wrap up from day two at the Richland Holiday Tournament
Consolation Semifinals
The early game of the day would see the Crocker Lions take down the Bourbon Warhawks 54-41 to advance to the consolation game. The first quarter would see the slow methotical pace of the game established and it was the Lions on top 14-12 after one. In the second Crocker would begin to build on their lead by outscoring Bourbon 13-9 to extend their lead to 27-21 at the break. The third would see Crocker's defense hold Bourbon to just eight points and they would push their advantage to a 40-29 lead after three. In the fourth Crocker would enlist some delay game tactics forcing Bourbon to go to a foul game to prolong the game. Crocker would go 10 of 18 in the period which would be good enough to hold off any Warhawk rallies.

Consolation Semifinal
The Newburg Wolves would punch their ticket to the consolation game with a 49-42 win over the Laquey Hornets. The first quarter would belong to Newburg as their defensive intensity would stifle Laquey allowing just four Hornets points. Newburg was on top 14-4 after one. In the second period both teams would get into an offensive groove and Newburg would outscore Laquey 13-12 in the quarter to take the 27-16 lead into the locker rooms. In the third Laquey would use some defensive muscle to get back int this one. They would halt Newburg's offense just allowing four points while putting up twelve in frame to cut Newburg's lead down to 31-28 at the end of three. The fourth would see a thrilling ending as Laquey would battle back and would hold a six point lead midway through the fourth but Newburg would show some resolve. They would hit some shots and take a one point lead late in the game after a Ryan Ward old fashion three point play. Newburg would rebound a missed Hornet three pointer and find Kaleb Robinson for his only basket of the game it a three point game.Newburg would hit a couple free throws to seal the win.

Semifinals
The top seeded Iberia Rangers advanced to their first Richland Holiday Tournament championship with a 76-53 pounding of the Belle Tigers. In the first period Iberia would experience some foul problems but the Rangers would use their depth to help pick up the slack and were on top 17-13 after one. The second quarter would see the Rangers blow this one open as they would score 27 points in the period while allowing just six Belle points and it was all Iberia 44-19 at the intermission. The third was an evenly played game as both teams would put up sixteen points and Iberia would lead it 60-35 after three. In the fourth quarter Iberia would get a chance to get their reserves some minutes to close this one out. Belle would outscore Iberia 18-16 in the frame to end on a pleasant note.

The Eugene Eagles would advance to their tenth Richland Holiday Tournament Championship game with an 80-48 rout of the host Richland Bears. Eugene would jump on Richland in the first as they would run out to a 20-9 after one. In the second frame the offense was on display as both teams would score the basket ball well and Richland would win the court 21-20 but it was Eugene on top 40-30 at the break. The third would see Eugene ride their hot three point shooting as they would can four treys in the period to help them outscore the Bears 22-14 to push their lead up to a 62-44 advantage. In the final eight minutes Eugene would outscore Richland 18-4 to win this one big. Cody Shaw was big for the Eagles in this one as he was credited with 10 assists in the game.

The consolation game is a rematch from last years Richland Holiday Tournament Consolation game which Crocker won 59-55. The Bourbon-Laquey 7th Place game is also a rematch from last years RHT in which Laquey won 54-39.
