Good morning everybody here is my wrap up from a monster day in Frisco League Hoops action with over ten games on tap this is going to be a long one.
Stoutland at Dixon
The Dixon Bulldogs were again powered by another big third quarter as they blasted Frisco League foe Stoutland 80-51 for their first conference win of the season. The Tigers would come out with a game plan to try and dictate the tempo and in the first quarter they were hitting the long ball. They would run out to a 19-14 lead after one period, on a special note for one Dixon Bulldog Collin Holzer at the 1:36 mark in the first period would surpass the 1500 career point mark. Back to action in the second Dixon was able to use some defense to hold down Stoutland to just four points in the period while putting up fifteen points to take a 29-23 lead into the locker rooms. The third would see Dixon do what they have been able to do so many times this year and have a monster third quarter. The Bulldogs would get after Stoutland with their full court pressure to help create some easy baskets from turnovers and the three balls were falling for the Bulldogs. When it was said and done after three the Bulldogs would outscore their guests 28-10 and open up a commanding 57-33 lead. In the fourth quarter with the victory in hand Dixon coach Mike Phillips would be able to get his reserves some time all 14 that suited up would play and twelve of them would score. Dixon outscored Stoutland 23-18 in the fourth.
"Its nice to get back into conference play we've been playing some non conference teams lately and your first win in the Frisco is pretty good. Again we were able to have another big third quarter we came out after the half and were disciplined in our pressure defense and we were able to get the tempo to the pace we wanted. I think we scored as many points in the third as we did in the first half alone. Give Stoutland some credit they were able to come out in the first half and slow us down and stayed with their game plan. It was good to get everybody some minutes especially at home and now we will get ready for Laquey on Thursday." Dixon Coach Mike Phillips

The Richland Bears made the road trip to Miller County to face the St. Elizabeth Hornets and returned home with a 64-53 victory. The Bear were able to get out and running early as they would own the first period. Outscoring the Hornets 25-12 in the first eight minutes. "Its extremely hard to beat a team when you can get five players scoring double digits like we were able to do tonight. It makes it hard for the defense to key on that one guy so the offense was smooth and flowing tonight. We did a good job of guarding tonight and that is something we are starting to do better. I though we did what we wanted to defensively and forced them to do somethings they didn't want to do. St. Elizabeth is just a tough place to win and this is my first career win over in St. Elizabeth. From here we'll get some practice time in before the holiday break and get ready for the Richland Holiday Tournament on the 27Th" Richland Head Coach Kent Stoumbaugh
