Good evening everybody here are the scores and info from night two at the Frisco League Tournament held at the "Big Gym" on the campus of Laquey High School.
1 vs 9 Girls
The Crocker Lady Lions used a strong second half effort to dash the Plato Lady Eagle's hopes 62-41 but this was a game of two halves. The first half the Plato Lady Eagles were able to use some full court pressure to force Crocker into several turnovers and were able to carve out a 20-18 lead at the intermission. The third period saw Crocker respond as they stormed out of the gates and had built up a 10 point lead midway threw the period by taking care of the basketball and cutting down their turnovers. Crocker would outscore the Lady Eagles 23-3 in the frame to open up a 41-23 lead after three. The fourth quarter saw Crocker get the lead up to twenty and were able to get some of the bench players into the ga,me to close this one out.

The Laquey Lady Hornets used their height advantage to get past a very pesky Iberia Lady Rangers squad 61-42. Iberia came out fired up with no fear as they got hot from the field and were able to shoot their way to a 17-13 lead after one. The Lady Hornets would respond in the second as they played some tough defense to slow down the Lady Rangers shooting and held them to just 8 points in the frame. Offensively Laquey got into rhythm and put up 26 points to take a 36-25 edge into the break. The third period again saw Laquey's defense took center stage as they frustrated Iberia holding them to just seven points and they led it 50-32. The final eight minutes saw Laquey use some delay game to eat up clock and salt this one away with some fast breaks early in the quarter. Laquey's twin tower combo of Danielle Graves and Britnie Miller combined for a 33 points in the paint

The Dixon Lady Bulldogs toppled the Richland Lady Bears 67-52 to advance to meet the Laquey Lady Hornets. Things were close early on in this one as Richland was able to take advantage of some Dixon foul trouble and hold down the Lady Bulldog's offense but Dixon held a 14-12 edge after one. The second period saw the offense come to life for Dixon as they outscored their opponent 16-6 in the frame to open up a 30-18 lead at the intermission. Dixon came out rolling in the third period as they got hot from the field and buried Richland 24-15 in the eight minutes to take a commanding 54-33 lead after three. The last eight minutes saw Richland fight and get after Dixon with a lot of pressure defense but Dixon was able to handle it for the most part and put this one away breaking the pressure and scoring lay ups.
