The Richland Bears were able to get past the Rival Stoutland Tigers 76-58 in a very physical contest. The first eight minutes was more or less a feeling out process as both teams played some tough defense and it was Richland leading 17-10 after one. The second quarter saw Richland get hot from the field as they seemingly couldn't miss in the frame and they outscored Stoutland 23-14 to open up a 40-24 edge at the intermission. The third period was rather evenly played by both teams and it was Richland on top 55-38 after three. Early in the fourth Stoutland put together a good run and were able to cut Richland's lead down to single figures but an Alex Howlett three pointer stopped the Tiger comeback pushing the lead back up to 12. Richland was able to play ball control from that point and won this one. This win for the Richland Bears is the first win against the Stoutland Tigers since the 1997-98 season and also the first time that Richland has been in the Frisco League Tournament semifinals since the 1999-2000 season.
